Martin Luther King Day

JC made a few remarks for MLK day...
It is my distinct honor to be a part of today’s Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. On this holiday, we commemorate the universal, unconditional love, forgiveness and nonviolence that empowered his revolutionary spirit. It is said that to understand a man, one must study his words. Dr. King used his words and his sermons to lead others to service. He often described how he wanted us to take measures to improve humanity. He said, "We must work unceasingly to uplift this nation that we love to a higher destiny, to a higher plateau of compassion, to a more noble expression of humanness" Words that stand true today as much as they did when he said them. You have to believe if he was still alive today he would say something about the Middle East. What action defined Martin Luther King as a great leader? He told us, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” When he challenges us by saying, “Everybody can be great...” He also tells us how, “You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." So as we celebrate this holiday in his honor, let us do it living this day and everyday as he said he wished to live his days. “If I can help somebody as I pass along, if I can cheer somebody with a word or song, if I can show somebody he is traveling wrong, then my living will not be in vain." Have a great Martin Luther King day, Thank you
