It feels like Christmas! Get out and VOTE!

You know how the holiday season is so wonderful with everyone saying Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays or Happy New Year? Well it feels a lot like that with the impending election with both friends and strangers saying "Don't forget to vote!" Now that's how it should be! A level of enthusiasm for the fundamental function of our government usually only reached during the holidays. This is awesome! I hope this will continue in future years, with less temperamental campaigns. And then last nite, on two different channels (FOX News and C Span) had two very different guests (the actor Richard Dreyfus and the author Rick Shenkman) on the need for basic education in civics since most Americans do not know how government 'works'. I always say that my knowledge of civics came from watching The West Wing!
