Where oh where have I been?

This will soon be my full time job! So what's been goin on since June 15th after I got home from Seattle with JC? I went to Columbus Ohio to pick up a car since I sold JC's van. I hope he isn't too upset about that. And my great brother-in-law Bob is lending me his old car - which isn't so old and very nice. I made good time on the drive home - left Bob and Pat's at 5:10am and made it into my driveway at 11:45am. YEAH! I could be a professional driver! Then what… ummm I quit my job! Gave 3 weeks notice and my last day with Arlington County is tomorrow! I am freakin'! I went to California over the weekend of the 4th to visit all my friends and check on the house. I arrived to a bomb threat at LAX. But being from DC, I just walked off of the airport. Everyone just stood there and talked on their cellphones. No big bang, thank goodness. And I was on my up PCH. At the house I was successful getting a new lawn service company to take care of the place. And met with a realtor to see what the market is up to. L So JC don’t read this part – I do not want to sell the house in Camarillo. We have another year on the lease with our fabulous tenants so that gives me time to work a plan hehehe. I am always overcome with happiness when I am back in Cali. And even tho I didn’t surf like I’d hoped, I did hike to the top of Mugu Peak (ok so maybe I am not ready to climb Mt Kenya yet). I stayed with Leticia at her new house now that she is my neighbor (more incentive to move back). It was so much fun with her 2 kids and their nice pool. She had a cookout and invited friends from Kinko’s. Didn’t get to see Lori, and only saw Rachel for a short time. But since I already have a trip to go back in September with Jessica and Noah, I will see have another chance to see everyone. Spent all day Sunday with Jean Kauper - who is awesome! we walked around the observatory at Griffith Park. Just love spending time with her. Very Cool. Spent plenty of time with Navy friends too, I got my fix of hangin' out all the great Naval Aviators and their wonderful wives! It was pretty awesome except that JC wasn’t there with us. Cali was a great time... drank a bit, didn’t get much sleep… Came home to my last week at work. It is a bit hectic getting it all done, but I will probably help out a bit over the summer. So what is next??? I go to St Louis to visit Becky on the 18th for the weekend. Then back to Ohio for JC’s niece’s wedding. Then back to Bahrain in August (OMG it is going to be brutally HOT HOT HOT). The exciting part is I am going to fly over military space A. With Ramadan in September, I didn’t want to wait any longer to see my baby! OK, enough about me. JC was back in Dubai yesterday but is already back in Bahrain. He called me today to take my emotional pulse (been a bit anxious about the whole job quitting thing). He goes back to Djibouti (ok, that is the definition of “Africa hot”). He had a very busy social/work schedule last week with the Change of Command for the Admiral in charge of 5th Fleet. Admiral Cosgriff has departed the island and Admiral “Shortney” Gortney has arrived. JC attended several events related to the occasion, including a briefing with 77 Power Point slides. (snoozzzzzzzzzzer!) Had the big tree in the front yard removed the day after I got back from Cali. Really makes a difference on the front of the house. I just was worried it would come down in one of these storms, it was not looking very healthy. Well, I will post pictures soon of all this. I hope this finds all our friends and family doing well, enjoying the summer and making time to have fun and relax. I will keep you posted on our move – waiting on written orders (JC have you called the detailer yet???) to Italy. CIAO baby!
