Marhaba from Bahrain

It has been a busy and exciting time for me. I now know why they call it a major command... many people doing major work. I am still learning alot about the region and how the Navy does business overseas from the shore side. It is much different than being at sea and flying off an aircraft carrier. The majority of the command is made up of security forces that protect the base, ships and aircraft and I spend a good part of my day staying abreast of our security posture. It is a good thing everyone wears a nametag because I met too many to remember all their names.
I am intrigued by the wooden boats called dhows that support commerce in Bahrain. The photo shows two dhows moored at a pier in the inner harbor. I miss watching college football on Saturdays but I know Molly doesn't, hahaha. Go Navy, Appalachian State and Buckeyes. Thanks for all your support, it means alot to me! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. JC
